The muse for ”When I See Me”, Mr. Ahmaud Aubery can rest now. His mother and family can breathe a little deeper and feel a little lighter tonight because the burden of carrying around the what ifs can cease. This is due to the fact that today justice was served. ALL THREE OF HIS WHITE SUPREMACIST MURDERS WERE FOUND GUILTY!
I am elated. I feel as though I have been holding my breath a bit since I saw the video of the horrific and brutal attack that ended his valuable life.
This evening I breathed a sigh of relief and prayed for his family. I haven‘t had faith in the justice system for quite some time now and given the circumstances of other cases, I felt as though I would end up disappointed like many times before.
Tonight I look at this picture of my muse and smile a bit because his life mattered and truth and justice prevailed.
